ISBA is re-launching one of the most unique treks at Ross - India Trek! Over the course of 8 days, experience three of India's most amazing cities. From the Taj Mahal in Agra, to a desert party in Dechu, to Bollywood dance lessons in Mumbai, India trek has a balance of activities for everyone going!

Day 1

Arrive in Delhi

Arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. As you exit the airport, you will meet a Bschool Travel representative who will escort you to your hotel in an Air-conditioned private vehicle. At the hotel, a traditional Indian welcome of aarti- tikka- garland will be accorded. Check-in time at the hotel is at 14:00 hours.


Dinner at the hotel.

Old & New Delhi Tour

Morning: begin your day with an exploration starting in Old Delhi, visiting the Jama Masjid, the royal mosque built by the Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan in 1656. It is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world and is constructed in red sandstone and white marble.

In the old city of Delhi, walk through the by-lanes of the spice market, the wedding street and the Jeweler’s lane to savor the 350 years old culture up-close. There will be great photo opportunities here.


Enjoy a cycle rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, the spine of Old Delhi. Drive past Red fort, built in red sand stone by Shah Jahan in 1648, this magnificent monument is laid out along the river Yamuna as an irregular octagon. 


Lunch will be at a local restaurant – Karim’s or Moti Mahal. 


Enjoy an orientation tour of New Delhi


Visit Bangla Sahib (Sikh Temple). This former bungalow of Raja Jai Singh was renovated into a Sikh Temple. Guru Har Krishan Sahib Ji, the 8th guru of the Sikhs, is believed to have stayed at this place in the year 1664. It is further said that at that time, people were suffering from an epidemic and they were given help by the guru. 


Next on the itinerary is Humayun’s Tomb, the first great example of Mughal architecture in India, it developed to become the hallmark of the Mughal Dynasty. The squat building of white marble and red sandstone, with a dome and high arched entrances, surrounded by formal gardens, is generally regarded as a prototype of the famed Taj Mahal of Agra.

Agra (Taj Mahal)

This morning a Bschool Travel representative will escort you to the railway station for your express train to Agra: 


Leave: Delhi at: 08:10 Hrs by: 12050, Gatimaan Express 


Arrive: Agra at: 09:50 Hrs class: Air-conditioned chair car Agra 


Meet upon arrival by a Bschool Travel representative and proceed to visit the Taj Mahal. The 17th century Taj Mahal is often called a poem in stone. If so, the mausoleum is a love poem - created by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years to be completed and was designed and planned by a Persian architect Ustad Isa. Apart from its stunning design balance and perfect symmetry, the Taj is also noted for its elegant domes, intricately carved screens and some of the best inlay work ever seen. 


Lunch will be arranged at Jaypee Palace hotel. 


Post lunch visit Agra Fort. An imposing structure with walls of red sandstone, almost two miles long and contains palaces, audience halls and mosques. The fort presents a good sampling of Islamic and Hindu architectural styles. It was built by the third Mughal Emperor, Akbar. Time permitting: shopping tour can be arranged. 


Later drive back to Delhi (approx. 3 hours 30 min). 


Arrive Delhi and transfer to the hotel.

Day 4

Jodhpur (Samsara Desert)

Early morning in time a Bschool Travel representative will escort you to the airport for your flight to Jodhpur Jet Airways 729. 


Transfer to Samsara resort, approx. 2 hours.


Late afternoon, proceed for a Jeep safari experience, and also enjoy a Camel Safari at the camp site. Special Dinner with BBQ will be arranged with Rajasthani Dancers, DJ etc. (Alcohol Included)

Day 5

Jodhpur

Morning dirve to Jodhpur. Visit Mehrangarh Fort, standing in splendour on a perpendicular cliff, 400 feet above the skyline of Jodhpur. 


Continue to Jaswant Thada, a white marble 19thcentury royal cenotaph. Later walk around the old markets. 


Option: Drive to Rohetgarh to meet the ancient Bishnoi tribes who are arguably the first ecologists of the world. 


Return to hotel (Indana Palace)


In the evening, enjoy a cooking class followed by Dinner will be at one of the specialty local restaurants.

Day 6

Arrive in Mumbai

Morning is at leisure. 


Afternoon in time a Bschool Travel representative will escort you to the Amritsar airport to board the schedule flight for Mumbai. Jet Airways 9W 413 


Arrive: Mumbai at: 1550 Hrs. class: Economy


Meet upon arrival by a Bschool Travel representative and transfer to your hotel.

Mumbai

This morning along with your English-speaking tour escort visit the Gateway of India, the principal landmark of Mumbai, was the principal port when the visitors came to India by ship. Enjoy an orientation tour of Mumbai. Drive past Victoria Terminus - the first train to steam out of Mumbai operated from here to Thane in 1853. Visit Mani Bhawan a small museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi. Photo-stop at Dhobhi Ghat, a unique outdoor laundry.


Today lunch will be arranged at Bombay Canteen or similar local restaurant that serves Continental cuisine.


Thereafter proceed for Dharavi slum tour. On this tour, guests will see Dharavi Slum which is located in the heart of Mumbai. Many people know Dharavi as the 'largest slum in Asia', but there is much more to this historic area of Mumbai than poverty. Dharavi's industries have an annual turnover of approximately US$ 665 million. Through this tour guests experience a wide range of these activities: recycling, potterymaking, embroidery, bakery, soap factory, leather tanning, poppadom-making and many more. A tour through Dharavi's narrow alleys is quite an adventure, and one will leave with an enlightened sense of the purpose and determination that exists in the area. 


The day culminates with a visit to a Bollywood dance studio. Learn the moves & grooves of Bollywood, a fun activity! 


Farewell dinner will be at a local restaurant or hotel. Followed by an optional club night/party. (Alcohol not included).

Day 8

Depart Mumbai

In time transfer to the International Airport to board the homebound flight.
