The Rice Business 2026 Global Offsite Elective in Tokyo, Japan, led by Associate Dean Anastasiya Zavyalova, offers students an immersive opportunity to explore Japan’s dynamic business environment through company visits, guest speakers, and cultural experiences across Tokyo. Through these engagements, participants will gain firsthand insight into how organizations in Japan approach strategy, innovation, and leadership within a unique global and cultural context.

This course is 1.5 credits, letter-graded, and open to all electives-eligible Rice MBA students.

The course will take place Sunday, December 13 - Saturday, December 20, 2026. To participate, you should plan to be available for the entirety of the week.

Registration Timeline:

• The deadline to register for this course is August 31, 2026. Note: You will not self-enroll in Esther; please complete this form and submit a $500 deposit in order to secure your spot in the course. The course will not show up in Esther until after the registration deadline, in September.

• The deadline to drop this course for a full refund is September 4, 2026. To drop this course, please email Hannah (hm56@rice.edu) and Shelby (shelby@bschooltravel.com) prior to the deadline.

• Cards will be charged the remaining fee balance on September 7, 2026.

Please Note: This course must hit a minimum number of 25 participants in order to move forward.

Once the registration deadline has passed, we will be able to confirm if the course will run. We recommend waiting to buy flights until the flight is confirmed, or buying refundable flights as Rice Business and B School Travel will not be held responsible for financial loss due to the course cancellations.
